ABOUT US

The Dog-O-Mat opened in December 1997, the brain-child of Donna Daily, the first owner.  Carolyn's family purchased the Dog-O-Mat in 2000, when Donna moved back to Maine to marry a lobster fisherman.  This year marks our 14th anniversary.

Carolyn was a frustrated graduate student (in architectural history) who needed a job and wanted one where she could bring her Golden, Dexy.  She found the Dog-O-Mat, gave up academia and has been spending her days cleaning tubs ever since.

In 2010 the Dog-O-Mat family was joined by Beth Bigge who opened the Dog-O-Mat II on Jackson Rd.  The Dog-O-Mat II is independently owned by Beth and her pups, but is a partner business to Carolyn's Dog-O-Mat.
